Please join University of Manitoba Press in welcoming the Association of American University Presses 2014 Book, Jacket & Journal Show to Winnipeg.
The show will be on exhibit at the U of M Archives & Special Collections in Elizabeth Dafoe Library February 2-13, with the opening reception scheduled for Friday, February 6 at 2:00 pm.
The show recognizes “meritorious achievement in design, production, and manufacture of books, jackets, covers, and journals” and will be displayed in 35 cities across North America. The Winnipeg exhibit is one of two Canadian stops on the tour.
University of Manitoba Press’ cover for Mitiarjuk Nappaaluk’s Sanaaq, designed by Marvin Harder, was one of 22 jackets/covers selected from 326 entries.
Marvin Harder’s other recent work for University of Manitoba Press includes Rob Alexander Innes’ Elder Brother and the Law of the People, Merle Massie’s Forest Prairie Edge, and the forthcoming book by Rick Monture, We Share Our Matters.
