Injichaag shares the life story of Anishinaabe Elder, Rene Meshake, a residential school survivor from northwestern Ontario. A renowned artist, Meshake is a recipient of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Medal. Here, he shares his stories, poetry and artistic vision through this unique work.

Editor Kim Anderson, Meshake’s adopted daughter, is a University of Guelph Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Relationships and a scholar of oral history who has worked with her father for more than 20 years.
