Conference season is almost done for UMP staff.
Congress in Victoria, NAISA in Saskatoon, and AAUP in Boston kept us hopping with author meetings, paper presentations, and, of course, dinners with our publishing colleagues.
One of the things I love best about scholarly publishing is how close university press staff is across the industry, and conference season is when we get to hang out, gossip, watch hockey (Go Hawks!), and share perspectives on all thing publishing.
Our last conference of the season will be the International Indigenous Voices in Social Work conference being hosted this year by University of Manitoba July 8-11th. I’ve taken a quick look at the program and it looks like it’s going to be a pretty powerful few days. If you happen to be in the Winnipeg area, I recommend you check it out.
