The Manitoba Editors’ Association presents a morning of discussion on scholarly editing, featuring a trio of panelists who will share their expertise.

Topics for discussion include: what differentiates scholarly from other editing? How does the peer review process work? What degree of subject-specific expertise or formal education does an academic editor require? How can one get a job or freelance contract as an academic editor? How are style guides and technology used in scholarly editing?

Panelists: Glenn Bergen – Managing Editor, University of Manitoba Press; Maureen Epp – Copyediting academic publications in humanities & social sciences; Jodi Smith – Scholarly editor in the fields of medicine & sciences
